Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted February 16, 2012 Moderators Share Posted February 16, 2012 Just curious if anyone has had any success with modifying the binary info for a mult-string reg value, or if there is a way to do this. From time to time when packaging software for customers I add an entry to delete a group of temp files on next reboot, using the PendingFileRenameOperations key (see below). I can create the key through AutoIT, but haven't found a way to alter the binary data. 1. Create the value. This works: RegWrite("HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager", "PendingFileRenameOperations", "REG_MULTI_SZ", "\??\" & @DesktopDir & "\DeleteMe.txt") 2. Right click on the value, select "Modify Binary Data", and add "0000" to the end of the string. This tells Windows to delete the file on reboot. This part I haven't found a way to accomplish yet.
