Mechaflash Posted February 21, 2012 Share Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) My UDF has #include <Display_Library_Functions.au3> But the program calling this UDF also has the same #include line, which when I go to execute the program, it returns variable errors because it's being called twice. How would I #include an AU3 file in my own UDF if the main program also has an #include on the same AU3 file? Minesweeper A minesweeper game created in autoit, source available. _Mouse_UDF An UDF for registering functions to mouse events, made in pure autoit. 2D Hitbox Editor A 2D hitbox editor for quick creation of 2D sphere and rectangle hitboxes. Mechaflash Posted February 21, 2012 Author Share Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Why would you want to include things twice?The UDF i created relies on Display_Library_Functions.au3 in order to work, however, the program which is using my UDF also requires it, and this may not always be the case.So if the main program doesn't use Display_Library_Functions.au3, I don't want my UDF to break by not including it in the UDF. So I wanted to go a safe route and have it include in both.Would you recommend an alternative route? As #include directives cannot be conditionally honoured, I cannot see an easy way out of this problem. The only solution I can think of at the moment is for you to add the necessary code from this UDF to your UDF, carefully renaming all functions and Global variables to prevent AutoIt throwing the "already declared" errors. And actually one of them, the array $a can probably be eliminated completely as a global because it isn't used in a global scope, as it's only receiving the results of a DLL call in the functions that use it. The $c global also isn't used anywhere in the script, it's redeclared in one of the functions, but never used. Personally, if I were going to use that UDF, I'd probably rewrite it as it could probably do with some updating. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day.
