Set a delay between GUI button presses.

What's the method used to not allow a user to press the same button in a period of time?

“Hello, ladies, look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again, the tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I’m on a horse.”

mechaflash213,

I would do something like this: ;)

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

$iBegin = 0

$hGUI = GUICreate("Test", 500, 500)

$cButton_1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("Press Me!", 10, 10, 80, 30)
$cButton_2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("And Me Too!", 10, 100, 80, 30)

GUISetState()

While 1

    Switch GUIGetMsg()
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $cButton_1
            GUICtrlSetState($cButton_1, $GUI_DISABLE)
            ; Run the code for this button here
            $iBegin = TimerInit()
        Case $cButton_2
            MsgBox(0, "Hi", "Thanks!")
    EndSwitch

    If $iBegin And TimerDiff($iBegin) > 5000 Then
        GUICtrlSetState($cButton_1, $GUI_ENABLE)
        $iBegin = 0
    EndIf

WEnd

You can see from the other button that the main loop stays active while the first button is disabled. :)

I already thought about just disabling the control then re-enabling like you did, but I wasn't aware of TimerDiff. I think that's my missing ingredient :)
