My first thought is just to make some sort of configuration text file and just create a line with what I want as the variable, then have the program extract the line into a variable when it runs next time. If you go this route, HKCU would be preferred over HKLM since HKLM usually requires elevated rights. If you go this route, HKCU would be preferred over HKLM since HKLM usually requires elevated rights.Ah that's a good one too.I was thinking about my project over lunch... and I was thinking that the ini file would work great because I may want to have multiple machines with the program having access to that same ini file over the network to make the programs 'collaborate' with each other and react based on the stated settings put into the ini.
