nickh21
First off, thanks to everyone for helping in advance! I have an automated process that runs in the background, and periodically I'll encounter pop-ups from it. A few pop-ups I've noticed so far are: Word: Save As (I want to click cancel) Word: Open as read-only? (I want to click cancel) Excel: Save As (I want to click cancel) Excel: Open as read-only? (I want to click cancel) Basically what I want to create, is an app that is constantly running in the background, searching for these windows. Once they are encountered, I'd like to click cancel... that's it Any ideas?
DaisyDuke
Use the autoit windows info to get the ID of the popup message box and the button to press then... look in the help file for WinActive and mouseclick. Goodluck
nickh21
Thanks for the reply... Is this something that I can make an .exe file, that will continuously run, and scan for open windows? Then suppress them by clicking cancel..? I want it to be an active running background process to simply click cancel when the window pops up. DaisyDuke
you can achieve what you want, there are lots of examples to learn from, and yes script will run in background. Spend more time reading through the help file, cos auto-it is an amazing tool!
