It's something I'm hesitant to put in as part of the bug tracker, as there's enough items in there, but certain edits to the UDF library that people do to expand upon it so they won't lose their own changes to the UDF's need to go somewhere. Would I be better off making my own UDF library and calling it something and including it rather than editing the UDF (although often it belongs there)? For instance, in the Excel UDF the current Function for _ExcelBookSaveAs doesn't handle xlsx, but I've edited it to be able to handle xlsx, xlsb, and xlsm. It was the addition of 3 lines in the function for types and 3 const variables in the beginning, I'm pretty sure most of the people who use the Excel UDF would find some use in that, considering we have to adapt with the new MS formats, so it would be something I'd submit for community use, but not sure where that would go? guinness Posted March 8, 2012 Share Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) Your best bet is in the Examples Forum because this well give you feedback on whether your function works on other systems, plus it's best to give it another name e.g. _ExcelBookSaveAsEx so it doesn't conflict with the UDF version. Alodar Posted March 8, 2012 Author Share Posted March 8, 2012 Well, that's the thing; I don't want it to conflict with the UDF version; it's something I'd suggest to the original author if they're still maintaining it (although the thread for the UDF is dead for almost a year now) to update the function.
