Dircopy

Hello folks,

I am working on a really simple script that copies some files from one place on our network to another place on the users machine, here is the script,

DirCopy("teeis10distsoftware$PublicOA SoftwareCisco VPNvpnclient-win-msi-5.0.07.0410-k9", "C:Program FilesLANDeskLDClientsdmcachesoftware$PublicOA SoftwareCisco VPNvpnclient-win-msi-5.0.07.0410-k9")

Now my problem is that it just does not work, however if I remove the white space in between the "Program Files" in the destination it copies the files over even though there are other white spaces in the destination path.

I have also tried using the @ProgramFilesDir with the same results that the files are not copied.

Can anyone help me, I’m losing the will to live with this really simple task.

Murray

Are you sure the folder is named "software$" and not "software"?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

You can try it this way

DirCopy("teeis10distsoftware$PublicOA SoftwareCisco VPNvpnclient-win-msi-5.0.07.0410-k9", '"C:Program FilesLANDeskLDClientsdmcachesoftware$PublicOA SoftwareCisco VPNvpnclient-win-msi-5.0.07.0410-k9"')

This puts the destination folder inside quotes so that it won't break up the path name.

So I have fopund the problem. What I did not mention at first is that I am working on a Win 7 system,am an administrator on this system. If I right click and run the Autoit editor as an Admiistrator the script runs just fine, so ther you have it if you are creating scripts that copy files into protected areas on the machine run the editor as an admin.

Thanks for your help Brewman.
