Rogue5099
I have recently clean up my personal computer and I have ran uninstallers of old programs I don't use anymore. Some of the programs when uninstalled leave a folder of the program in ProgramFiles. Sometimes it's empty and sometimes it has a few files left behind. I was wondering if I could get the Folder Size. If below 1MB it would delete the folder or open the folder just to check that I'm not deleting something important. I would like it safe enough that if I ran it in Windows folder that it wouldn't destroy my OS. Main objective is getting the folder size. I can write all the other but any tips on making it safe would be appreciated before I ran the script. Rogue5099
Okay, I have finished my script of deleting Folders that = 0 bytes. For some reason it doesn't always delete the empty directory. I don't know if it is the programs that recreate it after it is deleted or that it doesn't delete it in the first place. I have ran it on my main system and it hasn't messed anything up on my computer. If anyone has any comments (good/bad) or suggestions please let me know!RUN AT OWN RISK!!! BrewManNH
From the help file for DirRemove:Success: Returns 1. Failure: Returns 0 if there is an error removing the directory (or if directory does not exist). Check the return value from the function DirRemove, if it's 1 it was successful, if it's 0 it wasn't and proceed accordingly. BTW, randomly deleting "empty" folders is probably a bad idea because some of them may actually not be empty, they're just inaccessible to your script (permissions issues) and will probably return a size of 0.
