Welcome to the AutoIt forum. :oops:

AutoIt uses the Windows API and so does not run on Macs. There has been some success running AutoIt on Linux under WINE - search the forum for more details - but do not expect a great deal of support. :bye:

Thanks everyone for the fast response. Maybe you should include a link to that "Not To Do List" in the FAQ. The FAQ was the first place it went to ... before posting in the Forum. Also, when I first searched the Forum for Mac and Linux, nothing came up. After posting me question, I searched again and my question was returned along with 30 other posts that were unrelated.

Linux:

I am currently working on a Linux version of AutoIt. While it may have the same syntax, the look and feel of your scripts will be entirely different. On the other hand, I'm lazily working on WineBridge Cheese, which is a "wrapper" to AutoIt when it is running on WINE to allow it to control your Linux Desktop (Currently only tested with Ubuntu Unity though). If you use a different Linux distro, I'll see what I can do for you, however, I can't guarantee constant development of WineBridge Cheese. I have school still, and I get easily distracted.

Mac:

I don't think AutoIt will EVER be supported on Macs, Macs are too closed-source and have too little choices in programming languages. If anything, it would probably be coded in python or not free to make up for development costs. I would probably try making AutoIt for Macs myself, if I had a Mac.

Summary:

Most AutoIt programmers and scripters code on a need-based schedule. If they don't need it themselves, it won't be developed. This seems to be the rule for any software that is free. If you want AutoIt on Mac or Linux, you'll need to code yourself a "compatibility wrapper" or help with the development of one that currently exists. (Such as mine)

My UDFs are generally for me. If they aren't updated for a while, it means I'm not using them myself. As soon as I start using them again, they'll get updated.

if you need something that will run on a mac, androids, linux and almost any other system then google for languages that are multi-platform. autoit is not suited to the task for the very reason given above by melba23

The PCRE (Regular Expression) ToolKit for AutoIT - (Updated Oct 20, 2011 ver:3.0.1.13) - Please update your current version before filing any bug reports. The installer now includes both 32 and 64 bit versions. No change in version number.
