DriveSpaceTotal reports 0 MB on network volume

Recommended Posts

When running the compiled AutoIt code below as an administrator (aka "Run as Administrator" in the <right-click> context menu) in Windows 7 x64, it reports 0 MB. However, if I do not run it as administrator, it reports the correct size of the network volume that is mapped to drive v:\.

So the first thought is to not run it as an administrator then I know, but if it is included in a script that does require to be ran as an administrator, it will affect this. This doesn't seem to affect local volumes when running as administrator, only network volumes.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

$var = DriveSpaceTotal( "v:\" )
MsgBox(4096, "Total Space on v:", $var & " MB")

It's because when you run it as an administrator, and not the same user account as is logged onto the computer, it restarts the script in the administrators session and not the local user's. Thus in that account there is no V: drive so you can't read the size of it. You'd need to remap the drive after running the script, get its size, and then unmap the drive.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
