Fileread() missing text...

I have fileread that reads log of another application that i use. Sometimes it will just miss reading text even the text is there, it just returns blank...

And this only happens if i use timers in the script. I tried to make timers send flag to gui dummy to avoid blocking but no help...

I would post script but its thousands line of code. If you want me to post specific part just say what.

The thing here that i dont understand is that it doesnt happen if i read log inside adlibregister function, but it does happen if i read it through dummy invoked by timer_set_timer and i cant use adlibregister for another reason.

I am now trying with different fileopen() flags but its like a lottery, i have no clue what those bom things mean nor how could they help in this case?

Try and code a short reproducer script with both Adlib and Timer_Set_Timer functions that work/fail for you so we can take a closer look. As it is we cannot really offer any sensible advice. ;)

fileopen() has no "sharing" flags. Perhaps zedna meant to point you at _winapi_filecreate() which does have a sharing parameter. This function is in the UDF WinAPIEx.UDF. Another function that you may find useful is _winapi_fileinuse() to serialize access. This may be related to your problem.

Are you testing @error after FileRead?

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.

SQLitespeed is another feature-rich premier SQLite manager (includes import/export). Well worth a try.
SQLite Expert (freeware Personal Edition or payware Pro version) is a very useful SQLite database manager.
An excellent eBook covering almost every aspect of SQLite3: a must-read for anyone doing serious work.
