I'm attempting to rename a folder using DirMove, and it works fine if the folder has no contents, but if it does a file with no extension is put in the parent directory with the new name, and the folder renames unchanged. It makes me leery using this command to rename a folder that contains critical files. I am on Win 7 x64. Has anybody else experienced this? I had set up a statement to attempt FileMove and if it returned 0 then do a DirMove because it was a folder. This behavior worked when there were no files in the folder, but when there were files, FileMove operated on the files inside the folder. I opted instead for testing if the path was a folder by doing a path split and checking the contents of the extention variable: $FolderTest = _PathSplit($outputlist[$x], $szDrive, $szDir, $szFName, $szExt) If $FolderTest[4] = "" Then DirMove($in, $outputlist[$x]) Else FileMove($in, $outputlist[$x]) EndIf Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You'd be better off using FileGetAttrib and checking to see if the returned string contains "D" for directory.
