Rogue5099
I posted a question and while I was waiting for a response instead of pressing F5 or having a auto refresh on browser I made this. It pulls the source code and finds the number of replies. If the number of replies is greater than when you loaded script it will pop up telling you you got a reply and allow you to hit yes and go to topic site. Just go to the topic you want to watch for a reply copy paste URL into Input on GUI then click monitor! Current Sleep time is 10sec between check but you can increase decrease to whatever you like. ESC to Exit after you hit monitor or exit by tray icon(slandered). <snip> Edited April 22, 2012 by Melba23 Code removed My projects: Inventory / Mp3 Inventory, Computer Stats
Moderators Melba23 Posted April 22, 2012 Moderators Share Posted April 22, 2012 Rogue5099,I take it you have not seen this annoucement by Valik - in my opinion you fall foul of the "excessive" criterion mentioned therein. Can you imagine the server load if everyone started automating the site every 10 secs! Rogue5099
I'm sorry, I didn't mean any harm and I apologize. I have tried setting up notifications via text/email so on so I don't constantly have to hit the refresh myself but I don't check my e-mails like that either. I just wanted something that shows me a message on desktop (while I'm on computer) other wise it would be closed after but I will trash the concept as I am in the wrong with excessive bandwidth usage! I will not use the script for personal or public usage. Sorry if anyone has gotten the code before you removed it and uses it. I will be more diligent before posting tools in the future!Sincere Apologies,-Rogue5099(maybe instead of automating AutoIt I will continue to try the gmail Atom notification script that doesn't violate autologin and direct it strictly to the notification from AutoIt. I really enjoy the forums and surely don't want to step on any toes but if I do I will admit my mistakes and correct them!)
