mostly OT: join AVI files to one big AVI file.

Hi.

This is mostly off topic, I know, but maybe anybody out here has the knowledge how to solve this issue:

My task basically is this:

I have to review hundreds of small AVI files, super-high-speed is sufficient. In VLC Player I can open folders, I can speed up to maybe twentyfold, but when VLC is jumping to the next AVI, the speed is reset to 1x.

So I'm thinking about merging all the AVI files, then I can adjust the speed once, and let the movie pass by in one run.

So how to batch merge avi files?

But also any other suggestions are mostly appreciated.

Regards, Rudi.

Hi Rudi,

take a look at this forum entry: http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/280860-batch-join-all-avi-files-in-folder

Maybe this will help you.

Run VLC with a playlist and a global rate option (-- global switch applies to duration of program)

http://wiki.videolan.org/VLC_command-line_help

VLC playlist.xspf --rate=20

Btw, running a playlist (not from command line) in version 2.0.1, the next file continues playback at the rate of speed set for the first file

Hi.

Thanks for both replies.

As it's less work, I'll use the VLC command line options, specifying the folder holding the AVI files is sufficent:

vlc.exe c:tempviewAVIfolder --rate=40

;) thanks again, Rudi.
