armoros
Hey teachers What is the difference between this.. Local $Gui1 = GUICreate("form1", 800, 600) Local $Button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("clickme",10, 10, 75, 25) And this $Gui1 = GUICreate("form1", 800, 600) $Button1 = GUICtrlCreateButton("clickme",10, 10, 75, 25) What local does? I read the help file but i cant get it.. Edited April 28, 2012 by armoros
Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted April 28, 2012 Moderators Share Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) armoros, from the helpfile Global = Forces creation of the variable in the Global scope Local = Forces creation of the variable in the Local/Function scope So, if you define a variable as Local, it is only defined for that scope. As an example, if you define a variable as Local within a Function, it is not available outside of that Function: $x = "40" _test() _test2() Func _test() Local $y = "30" MsgBox(0, "", $x & " & " & $y) EndFunc Func _test2() MsgBox(0, "", $x & " & " & $y) EndFunc Func 2 is going to fail, because it doesn't "know" what $y is.
