MvGulik
Mmm, I'm sure there must be some related topics on this on the forum. But could not find any. O well. Anyway, Looking (again) for some (info/data/code/whatever) in relation to splitting a Au3 source code file into separate function files. What I have: Basic working core code ... that only needs to ignore function-code blocks inside comment blocks. As I'm not exception any useful comments and posting this will get help me moving along to next problem/task. I already left this topic. (Mmm, maybe wiki has something ... maybe later.) water
After re-reading the OP I think he wants some code that automatically splits a single au3 file into multiple files so that every output file holds a separate func/endfunc. At the moment he struggles with comments ( #cs / #ce / ; ) including a func/endfunc. BrewManNH
This is what I did in a program I made that parses a script for Function names and creates a listing of them inside the script for quick referencing them later. It looks for the word Func at the beginning of the line, but only if it doesn't detect a comment block start before it. It resets itself once it sees the comment block end (#ce or #comments-end), it's ver rudimentary, but it works. For $I = 1 To $aFile[0] If StringLeft($aFile[$I], 3) = "#cs" Or StringLeft($aFile[$I], 16) = "#comments-start" Then $Start = 1 ; look for the start of a comment block If StringLeft($aFile[$I], 3) = "#ce" Or StringLeft($aFile[$I], 13) = "#comments-end" Then $Start = 0 ; look for the end of the comment block If Not $Start Then ; if not inside a comment block, then parse the script section. If StringLeft($aFile[$I], 5) = "Func " Then $aTemp = StringMid($aFile[$I], 5, StringInStr($aFile[$I], "(", 0, 1) - 5) $aOutFile[$aOutFile[0] + 1] = $aTemp $aOutFile[0] = $aOutFile[0] + 1 EndIf EndIf Next If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. MvGulik
Roger.I'm not to fond on doing a manual pars of the source file/code (instead of having a RE doing the parsing). But it would at least fix the problem.[spelling] Edited May 4, 2012 by MvGulik "Straight_and_Crooked_Thinking" : A "classic guide to ferreting out untruths, half-truths, and other distortions of facts in political and social discussions.""The Secrets of Quantum Physics" : New and excellent 2 part documentary on Quantum Physics by Jim Al-Khalili. BrewManNH
My function lister runs through about 1600 lines of a script in about 190 ms, which is more than fast enough for me. The writing of the function list is what takes a long time. I'm not sure you'd gain a lot with a RegEx over that.
