sqa
Hi, I have 2 exe files created by AutoIt, File A.exe has to: 1. Set variable a = 1 2. RunWait File B and pass variable $a value in it File B has to: 1. Take value of variable $a 2. use it in $b = $a + 2 that will complete work of File B. File B do not have to return anything back to File A I have to find way without creating a temp. file for storing variable "a" data Thanks a lot
stormbreaker
Then you could write the value of variable to memory. Search the forums for Nomadmemory.au3 ---------------------------------------- :bye: Hey there, was I helpful? ---------------------------------------- My Current OS: Win8 PRO (64-bit); Current AutoIt Version: v3.3.8.
Moderators Melba23 Posted May 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 6, 2012 squ,Search the forum for "+inter +script +communication" - there are lots of examples. stormbreaker
Melba, I suppose it works by creating a virtual device (sort of), and then reads/writes data to it? ---------------------------------------- :bye: Hey there, was I helpful? ---------------------------------------- My Current OS: Win8 PRO (64-bit); Current AutoIt Version: v3.3.8.
Moderators Melba23 Posted May 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted May 6, 2012 MKISH,I do not think so - from one of the explanatory links in the first 2 posts: "A mailslot is a (temporary) RAM-based file to which numerous records of data can be written and read"M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
stormbreaker
Thanx for a quick reply Melba. You really triggered something great in my mind. I'll try it once I am back home and tell everyone, if I have some success. As for sqa, M23's approach is better than using Memory writing functions, since you have lesser chances of screwing up. Shaggi
For such a simple task you can just pass it on the commandline: ;script a $a = 1 Runwait("b.exe " & $a) ;script B $a = $cmdline[1] ;use a .. Ever wanted to call functions in another process? ProcessCall UDFConsole stuff: Console UDFC Preprocessor for AutoIt OMG
