I was wondering if there was a way to check if a specific file exists in My Computer, not just C or anything. I've found a few scripts that will search, but nothing as broad. Also, they seem to take forever to search. I was wondering if there was a way to do this quickly. Thanks!

There is always going to be a speed issue when enumerating through files on separate drives/partitions. Look at Melba's UDF RecFileListToArray.

nothing easier than:

FileExists

Checks if a file or directory exists.

FileExists ( "path" )

Parameters

Path The directory or file to check.

Return Value

Success: Returns 1. Failure: Returns 0 if path/file does not exist.

I think Damein is looking at searching a drive(s) for a particular file. With 350+ posts I would hope he knows about FileExists.

@Damein I did a search for that extension, name or list all files in the directories and subdirectories, see if it helps you.

searching any string returns a list immediately. But only NTFS Drives
