Stack overflow?

What is this stack overflow error? I'm getting it always.

I got a code where it's checking a couple of 'IF" functions all the time. I made it that end of the func holder, it's coming back to the func.

Example:

Func ex()
If $this = 1 then
    $num = 1
    next()
ElseIf $this = 2 then
    $num = 2
    next()
ElseIf $this = 3 then
    $num = 3
    next()
Else
    ex()
EndIf
EndFunc

I believe this code could be performed another way? cus I think this is causing the stack overflow that occur after like some minutes to some hours.

That code doesn't create a stack overflow error as it doesn't even run.

Search the Forum about recursion.

I can't find it easily in the wiki, but look at the Switch...Case...EndSwitch item in the help file.

In the snippet you provided, you will never set to a value that will not call the function again...you should probably do a while...wend loop, if you want to continually do something. You can do 2, one outside, wrapping a function call, and one inside a function, waiting for a condition to occur. That will fix your recursion issue.

I'm assuming that $this and $num are defined outside your function? Not sure what you're expecting with your next() statement, but you can't use next in this manner. Next is part of a for/next statement.

Are you sure you're coding in AutoIT?
