first question

how does this work

$butt_gun = GuiCtrlCreateButton("1",0,0,40,40, $BS_ICON)
GuiCtrlSetImage($butt_gun, "C:\ZzRPGFILESzZ\111.bmp")

and this dosent work?

$butt_ppl = GuiCtrlCreateButton("2",100,100,40,40, $BS_ICON)
GuiCtrlSetImage($butt_ppl, "C:\ZzRPGFILESzZ\wee.bmp")

because they are the same size 32,32

it shows just a normal button

1st: maybe you need to supply the bmp's and more of the script at list a trimmed down version of the script that doesn't work for you.

2nd: no you don't need beta

I suggest Run(@COMSPEC & ' /k ' & 'ipconfig /all')

You're missing quotes:

_runDOS("ipconfig /all")

/K means run the specified command and then go to a prompt, while /C means run the specified command and exit.
