jjetx Posted June 8, 2012 Share Posted June 8, 2012 I'm new to Autoit and programming in general so if possible, please try to be newbie friendly with any explanations and examples. I like to figure things out on my own so I've been over the Helpfiles and I've Googled, but I've got nothing. Could someone tell me why _GUICtrlListView_GetItemText($listview, _GUICtrlListView_GetSelectedIndices($listview)) returns no value? Thank you. expandcollapse popup#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3> #include <GuiListBox.au3> #include <GuiListView.au3> #include <ListViewConstants.au3> #include <WindowsConstants.au3> #Region gui $gui = GUICreate("AutoIt Alternative Monitor Application Manager", 260, 440, 194, 126) $label = GUICtrlCreateLabel("Available Windows:", 0, 0, 97, 17) $listview = GUICtrlCreateListView("x", 0, 16, 260, 380, BitOR($LVS_LIST,$LVS_NOCOLUMNHEADER,$LVS_SINGLESEL,$LVS_SHOWSELALWAYS)) _GUICtrlListView_SetColumnWidth(-1, 0, 260) $button = GUICtrlCreateButton("button", 8, 408, 75, 25) $button2 = GUICtrlCreateButton("button", 88, 408, 75, 25) GUISetState(@SW_SHOW) #EndRegion gui $list = WinList() For $i = 1 To $list[0][0] If $list[$i][0] <> "" And visible($list[$i][1]) Then _GUICtrlListView_AddItem($listview, $list[$i][0]) EndIf Next Func visible($handle) If BitAND(WinGetState($handle), 2) Then Return 1 EndIf EndFunc While 1 $msg = GUIGetMsg() Switch $msg Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit Case $button MsgBox(0, "", _GUICtrlListView_GetItemText($listview, _GUICtrlListView_GetSelectedIndices($listview))) EndSwitch WEnd Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moderators Melba23 Posted June 8, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 8, 2012 jjetx,Welcome to the AutoIt forum. I too have had this problem in the past and found that forcing the return value into Number type usually solves the problem (it seems that the returned String type is not acceptable). _GUICtrlListView_GetItemText($listview, Number(_GUICtrlListView_GetSelectedIndices($listview)))Does it work for you?
