error:unknown function name"

Hello,

After using autoitrecord to record very simple action of opening and closing a txt file, I compile the script by "compile(*86)" and get a .exe file. However, when I double click this .exe file, I got a error message: unknown function name. I am new to autoit, so maybe I can find some help here?

Post your code, also look at the line where _Au3RecordSetup() is being called, it's probably missing the lead underscore before the function name.

thanks. But do I have to add underscore to Au3RecordSetup() manually everytime after I compile script recorded by autoitrecord?

If you want it to work, then the answer is yes. It's a documented bug that will probably be fixed one of these days. Learn how to write the scripts yourself and eliminate the problem completely.
