BrewManNH
The file is empty, there's nothing in it to recover, it is full of NUL characters. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. skybax
If you look in the bottom left of the editor (Scite) you can see there are 8119 characters the same as before my computer restarted.
BrewManNH
Yes, and every single one of them is a NUL character. Like I said above. So, technically it's not "empty" but there's nothing in there to recover. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. BrewManNH
If you use the full version of SciTE and have used Tidy on your script, there is a possibility of a back up copy existing somewhere. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Skitty
This happened to me some time ago, and recently as well, I think my hard drive is beginning to loose it or something, sometimes files just disappear. Anyway, It turns out that when you compile your script or run tidy I think, there are copies made in the temp directory, I used some command line app that recovered thousands of deleted files, left it running for about 3 hours and came back, used scite to launch the "find in files" feature, searched for a unique string I remembered and found the little bastard.
