[Solved] What is the Difference bewteen Compile(Ctrl-F7) and Build(F7)?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I tried choosing the Compile(Ctrl-F7) MenuItem on a script, and it generated an EXE from it.

I tried choosing the Build(F7) MenuItem on the script, and surprisingly, it too, generated an EXE from it.

The 2 files are identical in size.

However,

After doing FC/B on the 2 generated EXEs,

apparantly the 2 files are not binarically identical.

There are about 20 bytes that are different, between them.

So what's the story here? :)

I'm actually considering staying with the SciTE that comes with the regular download :)

For this reason,

If I want to make my program an EXE,

Is there a difference for me, in using Compile vs. Build?

The EXEs are same size, very similar, and only 20 bytes different between them..

As far as I can tell, the Ctrl+F7 and F7 commands are identical in the Lite version, they both run the same command on the script.

SciTe..aut2exeaut2exe.exe" /in "test.au3"

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.
