Calling a variable inside a function?

Recommended Posts

Hello I am trying to get a script to use a local server based the local IP address. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but it does not work. Can I call variables like this?

$ip = @ipaddress1
If StringLeft($ip, 8) == "10.82.57" Then
$share = "\\server1"
ElseIf StringLeft($ip, 8) == "10.82.56" Then
$share = "\\server2"
EndIf
DriveMapAdd ( "Z:", "$share\z" )

BTW: You don't "call" a variable. You call functions. But you "assign a value" to a variable or "read the value/content" of a variable :)
