Two forum questions

Recommended Posts

Hi,

How do I create a text anchor for a URL when replying to a post? I played around with the test thread to no avail and read the Help file for the forum.

Why is there a line under my number of post that says "0 Warning Points"? I don't recall seeing that before.

Thanks,

kylomas

For a text anchor, do you mean substituting something like this -> http://www.autoitscript.com/trac/autoit to something like this LINK HERE? If so, there's 2 ways to do it, one is by clicking the icon on the editor that looks like a chain with a plus sign and entering the URL in the dialog box that opens up. The second way, the manual way, is to enter it like this [ url="http://www.autoitscript.com/trac/autoit"]LINK HERE when entering text in the editor..

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

BrewmanNH,

Thanks,

I tried using the "link" icon but when I specify "link to anchor in text" as the link type I get the message "No anchors available in the document". I'll use the other option that you offered.

As for the second question, I've seen it for the past month or two. It used to say "Warn Status", but since the most recent forum update it shows number of warning posts as you mention. This is visable, as far as I am aware, to you and the mods only.

What's an anchor? If you want like in BrewMan's post then simply select the text you want turned into a link before pressing the button.

IPB used to use something called SnapBack which worked like anchors, but its just easier to use the post url, which you can get if you click on the # link on the top right of every post.
