Variable help?

Recommended Posts

So I have this code:

$Form1 = GUICreate("test", 515, 406, 235, 186)

$one = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 33, 48, 465, 21)

Func one()

Send("hello" & $one & "{enter}")

EndFunc

While 1

HotKeySet("{Numpad1}","one")

$nMsg = GUIGetMsg()

Switch $nMsg

Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE

EndSwitch

Wend

it doesn't appear to work.

I want it like: When you entered your text in the CreateInput, and you press Numpad1, it'll write the sentence automatically for you.

lawonama,

See if you can spot the differences: ;)

HotKeySet("{Numpad1}", "one")
HotKeySet("{ESC}", "On_Exit")

$one = InputBox("Hi", "Enter what you want")

While 1
    Sleep(10)
WEnd

Func one()
    Send("hello " & $one & @CRLF)
EndFunc   ;==>one

Func On_Exit()
    Exit
EndFunc

If I were you I would look in the help file for GUICtrlCreateInput and look at the example posted in it. I'd also advise that you look in the help file for all of your questions before posting for help here, because this one is pretty simple to figure out if you did any type of research.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

lawonama,

How about this then? ;)

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>

HotKeySet("{Numpad1}", "one")

$Form1 = GUICreate("test", 515, 406, 235, 186)

$cInput = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 33, 48, 465, 21)

$cButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("Read", 10, 100, 80, 30)

$cEdit = GUICtrlCreateEdit("", 10, 200, 200, 200)

GUISetState()

While 1

    $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
    Switch $nMsg
        Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
            Exit
        Case $cButton
            $one = GUICtrlRead($cInput)
            ControlFocus($Form1, "", $cEdit)
    EndSwitch
WEnd

Func one()
    Send("hello " & $one & @CRLF)
EndFunc   ;==>one

All clear? :)

lawonama, if you want to catch what the person types into the Input box, you'd need to use GUICtrlRead. Take a look at this (albeit simple) example of how to pull that data back.

#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>

Local $msg
GUICreate("Test", 300, 300)
$input = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 5, 5, 100, 100)
$button = GUICtrlCreateButton("Push Me", 5, 150, 50, 50)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)

While 1
     $msg = GUIGetMsg()
     Select
Case $msg = $button
MsgBox(0, "", GUICtrlRead($input))
EndSelect
WEnd

Edit; Too Slow :)
