Can anyone tell me if this error is actually a bug autoit ?

I have a script that I have 3 files installed, always get this error:

$ok_1 = @TEMPDIR& "\ok_1.bmp"
FILEINSTALL("ok_1.bmp", $ok_1, 1)

$send_1 = @TEMPDIR& "\send_1.bmp"
FILEINSTALL("send_1.bmp", $send_1, 1)

$send_2 = @TEMPDIR& "\send_2.bmp"
FILEINSTALL("send_2.bmp", $send_2, 1)

^ ......Even if things are okay.

...specifically that all these 3 files I have in the script.

always get this error:

!>00:22:11 Aut2exe.exe ended errors because the target exe wasn't created, abandon build.rc:9999

only receive the error when compiling this script!

If you add files to install in an empty script, you can compile.

Simple things to check......

1. That the bmp files you're wanting to install are in the same directory as the script you're compiling.

2. Your sugar sync or other similar program isn't targed at the folder you're compiling from.

If then too no success try changing the filename to somewhat like test.bmp and then try

The code you posted in the first post, is that copied from your actual script? I ask because that code seems fine, there shouldn't be any errors thrown up due to that snippet, if it's not an exact copy it might be you have a mistake in the actual script.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Im guessing but i think fileinstall has to have a full path as the source

The source path of the file to compile. This must be a literal string; it cannot be a variable or the result of a function call. It can be a relative path (using . or .. in the path) to the source file (.au3).

an example of one of mine

FileInstall("X:ProjectsCleanupcompile_filescleanup_help.chm", @HomeDrive & "RegBackupcleanup_help.chm",1)

Actually, FileInstall will accept a relative path as long as the file can be found.
