Burbak
I have a DOS program that I run from Windows XP and sometime Windows Server 2003. I created a script to do what I wanted which is to 1) open the DOS program, 2) keyboard through the menu and select 3 reports that are exported to text files, and 3) close the program. This works fine and I set it up as a Scheduled Task. When I come in in the morning the program is still open and strange windows are open on the desktop. The only thing I can think of is that shortly after starting the script, something takes the focus off the DOS Window and the keystrokes are run on my system instead of in the DOS program. Is there any way to keep the focus on the DOS window until it is finished?

BrewManNH
Are you using Send instead of ControlSend? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Burbak
I'm using Send. Are you suggesting that I use ControlSend instead?
BrewManNH
Yes, because send is highly unreliable, and it doesn't work on hidden or minimized windows. Plus I don't think it works on locked computers. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Burbak
Using the AutoIt Window Info tool, I get this as a Summary: >>>> Window <<<< Title: TRKR3.EXE Class: ConsoleWindowClass Position: 6, 8 Size: 652, 331 Style: 0x14CF0000 ExStyle: 0x00040310 Handle: 0x006D01E6 >>>> Control <<<< Class: Instance: ClassnameNN: Name: Advanced (Class): ID: Text: Position: Size: ControlClick Coords: Style: ExStyle: Handle: >>>> Mouse <<<< Position: 487, 27 Cursor ID: 0 Color: 0x808080 >>>> StatusBar <<<< >>>> ToolsBar <<<< >>>> Visible Text <<<< >>>> Hidden Text <<<< I changed the first Send to a ControlSend and set it up like the example but it did nothing. ControlSend("[CLASS:ConsoleWindowClass]", "", "Edit1", "{ALTDOWN}e{ALTUP}") Obviously did something wrong. Any ideas?
