alfa
Is it possible to exclude directories while using dircopy. I mean i want to copy My Documents folder but i dont want to get picture music in it. What i can think of is deleting them after but it is not effective in time wise. THanks in advance
BrewManNH
You can't exclude folders using DirCopy, there's no parameter for it. The only way you'd be able to do something like that is to use FileCopy and copy one file at a time. Or you could use a script to run Robocopy (most versions of Windows have some version of it) that does the job for you. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Mechaflash
To add additional folders to omit, add an additional 'Case' statement. #include <File.au3> Local $aFolders, $sDestination $sDestination = Destination Path Here $aFolders = _FileListToArray(@MyDocumentsDir, "*", 2) For $i = 1 To $aFolders[0] Switch $aFolders[$i] Case "My Music" ContinueLoop Case "My Pictures" ContinueLoop Case Else DirCopy(@MyDocumentsDir & "" & $aFolders[$i], $sDestination) EndSwitch Next Edited September 4, 2012 by mechaflash213 Spoiler “Hello, ladies, look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. BrewManNH
Nice implementation, but there's an error. You can't use For/In with _FileListToArray because the first element is the count of filesfolders found which will mess up the script. Best to just use For $I= 1 to $aFolders[0] instead or use _ArrayDelete on the returned array to get rid of the first element.
