BrewManNH
There are examples of how to securely overwrite areas of the hard drive in the example script forum. Here's a couple to start with. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from. guinness
Why not use the TrueCrypt commandline parameters? Instead of doing it manually. BrewManNH
thnx they are interesting but not quite what i am trying to achieve here. Is their a way to navigate to a folder and automatically use right click method as mentioned?I'm thinking you didn't actually read the links I pointed to because they do exactly what the other 3rd party app you're trying to automate does. Either should securely overwrite the file/folder you're trying to copy then delete without needing to use a 3rd party app to do it. Also, there's no need for it to navigate to the folder and simulate a right click and interact with the context menu that pops up, you should be able to use nearly the same code that you're using, to copy the files/folder, to shred them afterwards. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Kyan
in the registry, go to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*SHELLFile Shreddercommand (could have other name instead of "File Shredder") and the Default key is the executed command, what you need to do is Run('"the path for .exe" -someParameter "path to file/folder you want delete"') PS: -SomeParameter could be like /SomeParameter, and is hypothetical... Heroes, there is no such thing One day I'll discover what IE.au3 has of special for so many users using it.C'mon there's InetRead and WinHTTP, way better

glad581
To securely erase data from hard disk you can choose file shredder tool, one such tool is Kernel for File Shredder which deleted files permanently and make it impossible to recover even with the help of data recovery tool.
