paulxs
Hi, new autoit user here. Sorry. On my first page of code I need to use UDF function _FileGetShortCutEx, which I've installed into a UDF folder as described at http://www.autoitscript.com/wiki/Adding_UDFs_to_AutoIt_and_SciTEAlas, no joy; all I know is that I'm getting a '1' error code.I kinda suspect that the problem lies with the procedure - or my execution of it - for setting up the include libraries, as the filegetshprtcutEx code includes #includes but presumeably if they were failing to be satisfied the code would not parse? (and I thought the point of the wiki procedure was that I would not include directives for filegetshortcutex but I do, otherwise the script fails to parse, file unfound), but I'm too new to know.. Anyway, any advice on how to debug further or snippets of code using the function would be appreciatedThanks. BrewManNH
A 1 error code doesn't tell us much, where is this error coming from? If the file can't be found when the script is run, you will get an error telling you it can't be found, it won't be just a number, it will tell you specifically that it can't be found. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. odaylton
Translated by Google. Sorry for any mistakes. I hope it helps other readers with the same problem although it seems obvious. Includes external must be saved in the same folder as the script (this is a good practice for future debugging) but this can generate many copies of the same listing, so you can create a folder containing all its includes. With this just put the include path between "quotation marks" Ex #include "_FileGetShortcutEX.au3" or #include "C: \ AutoIt-Includes \ _FileGetShortcutEX.au3" PS: See an application in the practice of the function

Sorry for any mistakes. So it looks more beautiful really But after ex a formatting of the machine you can forget all the modifications made in SciTE so I prefer to put it next to the script folder Thanks for the comment
