Hi,

I'm writing a script that run some netsh advfirewall commands to set firewall settings (block all), then set some rules (basically, allow everything on local subnet, and allow only firefox and such on internet). This make several run command and take some time, so I'm looking for a faster solution.

I will first try to agregate all command into a single multiline run command (not sure it will works)

Is there some faster way, for example with wmi object or such things ?

Thanks

If you search the forum for "firewall UDF" you only find some old (~ 2006) threads talking about enabling/disabling a firewall. That's all.

Hi, kiboost. I started one a while back, but it has been on the back burner as of late. You may find some functions that will suit your needs, though.

Nice UDF JLogan3o13. With a little bit of tidying up here and there, you're onto a winner. For example instead of using ObjCreate all the time you could adopt the same approach as the Excel and Word UDFs?

As Guinness suggested: Try to access an already existing object. If it doesn't exist, create it:

$oAppl = ObjGet("", "Word.Application")
If @error Then
    $oAppl = ObjCreate("Word.Application")
    If @error Or Not IsObj($oAppl) Then Return SetError(1, @error, 0)
EndIf

You guys are correct, of course. This is something I started a while back and then lost track of; I will definitely take another look at it and see if I can tidy it up. Thanks for the suggestions.
