Hi, Jeremy147, welcome to the forum. Your question is a broad one, and I think there is no single answer. In asking how long it would take to learn to code with AutoIt, you have to take into account factors such as your ability to learn and become comfortable with new concepts, as well as what you mean by "learn this language". You can learn to write simple yet powerful scripts pretty quickly with AutoIt, but if you are looking to write large applications that handle a number of functions, all will proper error checking, it is obviously going to take additional time.

In fact, I think anyone who has been using the language for any amount of time would agree that there really is no end to "learning this language". AutoIt is constantly growing and evolving, and there are always new ideas to learn and new ways of getting things done (that is why we all have a lot of love for the language!).

I would suggest trying to decide what you would like to accomplish first, then diving into the helpfile to decide if AutoIt is the right tool to do so. And remember, if you get stuck we're here to assist :)

And also if he's learning on his own (will take ~1 year) or if someone is teaching him. Edited by FireFox

Yes, im going to learn alone. I find a good tutorial in my languague . Its maybe a bit outdated but its look great.

I have to say the one year of learning to learnt it alone scare me.

I want to accomplish a "poker bot" i think i know how to make it in my head, but now i have to translate it ...But before im going to learn the basis with the french tut i found, there is some easy thing to do at first.

And im going to check the example script in this forum to understand how it work.

“Hello, ladies, look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again, the tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I’m on a horse.”

Jeremy147,

Although we will be delighted to help you learn AutoIt, I suggest you read the Forum Rules before you post again as starting here by saying:

I want to accomplish a "poker bot"

is not going to get you any help at all. :naughty:

Please find another project. :)
