kylomas
I have a folder of udf's that I use often and it is defined as my user include file (using scite config). Is there a way to configure ScIte to handle them the same as the distributed udfs, list them as the name is typed and then prompt for parameters? Thanks, kylomas Edited November 3, 2012 by kylomas Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. water
Yes, in SciTE press Ctrl+1 to run SciTE Config. Click tab Other Tools and run the User CallTip Manager. water
Some UDFs (AD, OutlookEX, ExcelChart, maybe others) already provide the necessary au3.user.calltips.api and au3.userudfs.properties files. Just add them to the respective files in your Windows user profile. kylomas
water, Downloaded the ExcelChart UDF and do NOT see a calltips or userudfs file. Do I get them somewhere else? I want to pattern my user UDF's after some defacto standard. kylomas Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. kylomas
@all - thanks for the help...found the files associated with the _winapi UDF and will pattern after these. kylomas Forum Rules Procedure for posting code "I like pigs. water
Ops. The ExcelChart UDF is the only UDF where this files are missing. Have a look at the AD or OutlookEX UDF. kylomas
water, After looking at the winapi udf files I see that there is nothing to pattern, you simply name the function(s) in a specific format. MilesAhead
If you provide a chm help file(HtmlHelp) with your UDF it may also be a good idea to make the sources of the help available. In the case of WinAPIEx UDF for example, I wanted to integrate the help into the main AutoIt.chm. I could download the AutoIt help sources, but I had to decompile the WinAPIEx Then merge them. Not rocket science. But if the UDF is frequently updated then the decompile business gets old. Hopefully the rumor is true that WinAPIEx is going to be incorporated into the next AutoIt release. I find it's the UDF I go to first for most things system oriented. There was a free tool that was written in ahk I believe, to do the whole job of decompiling and merging a bunch of .chm files. But I could never get it to work. It kept crapping out half way through. I think I got it to complete one run one time. Ended up doing it by hand. Also if said UDF is updated frequently a merge program may come in handly I used WinMerge to add only the new headers from WinAPIEx. It came out with serverl updates in a short span. Alternatively you could provide a separate listing of new functions sort of like a function header change log. But using merge is no biggie.
