Help with FileDelete

Recommended Posts

I did a search on "FileDelete", no hits.

AutoIt HELP example

FileDelete("D:\*.tmp")

worked.

These did not:

FileDelete ("C:\Users\####\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\")

FileDelete ("C:\Users\####\AppData\Local\Temp\")

FileDelete ("C:\Temporary Internet Files\")

FileDelete ("C:\Users\####\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies\")

with or without trailing "*.*"

Why?

Try adding #RequireAdmin at the top of the script, it's probably a permissions issue for those folders.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Thanks. Permissions sounds about right.

#RequireAdmin MIGHT have worked on one of the 3 folders, not C:Temporary Internet Files or C:Users####AppDataLocalTemp

There are now two new subfolders in C:Users###AppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsRecent

...CustomDestinations and ...AutomaticDestinations

so is there a switch for sub, as in DOS delete /s?
