LondonNDIB Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 In the help file for SplashTextOn is an example that uses "Static1" as the reference for the control of the SplashText but no explanation whatsoever of how that's determined. Use Au3Info and drag over the label of SplashTextOn, then select the Control tab in Au3Info. LondonNDIB Posted November 13, 2012 Author Share Posted November 13, 2012 OK, perhaps I've uncovered a bug (or maybe its known... or maybe not a bug at all). I tried guinness' example an of course it works. That is, I can see the control ID in the Info Window tool. But then I ask myself "why? What's the difference?". So I look for the difference between his code and mine and it quickly becomes apparent that I'm calling the SplashTextOn with an "opt" flag of 32 ("32 = Center text vertically"). When I do that, I can't get any info about the control in the tool. Anyway, its not really important at all that i have it vertically centered, so I just removed that and I'm back in business. Thanks. But, why not look at using the GUI functions instead? Check out GUI management in the help file.Because its a simple temporary use tool and for that I want simple visual feedback.
