Splash Image not working

I cant figure out why this is not working.....anybody see what I am doing wrong.

Local $destination = "C:\Documents and Settings\sebrad\My Documents\SB AutoIT\AutoIT Splash.jpg"

Try add a Sleep function.

You don't give it time to display that's why. Look at the help file example.

SplashImageOn('Splash Screen', 'FILEPATH', 250, 50)
Sleep(3000)
SplashOff()

I did just like guinness said, just like in the help file.........nothing pops up......my thinking was, the image would just stay up, I wont turn it off until I see it come up. But it NEVER comes up. what the heck is going on.

I do get a 4 sec "Time" at the botton of the window, looks like the 3000 wait was executed, but the image never shows up and its just jpg. cant figure it out.

Use FileExists, because I reckon the image doesn't exist or you have the wrong filepath.

Well, why not try .jpeg instead of .jpg OR use a different file.

Edit: Wait, the Exit code value is entirely different. My advice, learn how to problem solve and error check, because this is fundamentally important to programming and you shouldn't rely on the Forum for mundane tasks such as this....(see below.)

Save that screenshot above as Splash.jpg and use this >>

SplashImageOn('Splash Screen', @ScriptDir & 'Splash.jpg', 250, 50)
Sleep(3000)
SplashOff()

Voila, it works. it;s not AutoIt that is at fault nor is it the code I've provided. Suffice to say it's at your end.

It is. I'm guessing you don't have V3.3.8.1 do you.

Here is what I learned in trying to get SplashImageOn to work on my machine. I hope passing along knowledge is OK in this forum.

1. I had to code so the function looked in my 'My Pictures' folder.

2. I had to set up the computer to show file extensions. This way you know whether to use .jpg or .jpeg

here is the code that worked for me.

Local $destination = ("C:Documents and SettingssebradMy DocumentsMy Pictures" & 'Splash1.jpeg')

SplashImageOn("Splash Screen", $destination, 960, 596)
Sleep(9000); WAIT 9 SECONDS
SplashOff()

hi your code is fine just put a sleep function in it and as for the image maybe it has a wrong extension, most of the image viewers can display an image of any type even if it has extension is wrong , so they will dispaly an PNG file whose extension is changed to JPG without any warning, but this not work with Autoit so

try this open the image in a image editor (like MS Paint) then go to File--->save as and save it as jpg then try this new image in splash
