ramcrys
HI all, is it possible to get the text and then click on a menuitem of a pop-up menu of a control inside the browser ? In particular, I want to access the marked menuitem in the following screenshot:http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/rr34/ramcrys/606d5e01cd519f25e5a7c56817cccf0f_52440799untitled_zps662a749a.pngI am fairly new to automation (though some experience in coding C#), please give me some pointers. Thanks a lot in advance. Edited January 9, 2013 by ramcrys

BrewManNH
That isn't a standard control, as in it's not on the web page, it's from an add on isn't it? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. FireFox
Hi, Why don't you try the available YouTube Downloaders on the forum (made in AutoIt) ? Edit: after the next post, seems like my question was ignored. Br, FireFox. Edited January 9, 2013 by FireFox
ramcrys
Yes, it actually comes from the IDMCC extesion for Firefox / IDM plugin for IE Also, I choose this approach just to explore and use what I have at hand (IDM + IE / FIrefox - yeah, Firefox is ok too, I just happened to take a screenshot of the IE case ) So, is it even possible ? I mean, click the panel, then inspect the menuitems' text and finally click a specific menuitem ? Edited January 9, 2013 by ramcrys
junkew
yes, it seems to be possible with ui automation from windows. Tried with inspect.exe to recognize the controls (within Internet Explorer) and they are recognizable. see this and this for the direction on how to do this within AutoIT FAQ 31 How to click some elements, FAQ 40 Test automation with AutoIt, Multithreading CLR .NET Powershell CMDLets
