HG versioning experiences?

I have been playing with TortoiseHG as versioning tool and must say it look very nice.

Installed TortoiseHG and made a Copy of the SciTE4AutoIt3 SVN repository which I could simply import into an RH version repo.

The HG client and Workbench are looking really nice.

Any of you have any experience with this versioning tool?

I found it because Neil is using it for the SciTE repo.

I am using both CVS and SVN and prefer SVN till now. The HG client looks pretty nice.

[pedantic]TortoiseHG is not a versioning tool, but rather a user interface for mercurial (abbreviated hg).[/pedantic]

Mercurial is distributed just like Git, but is much more straight forward imho. Bitbucket is the equivalent of Github, but allows private repositories for free (which I like).

TortoiseHG as a user interface is really nice (as is all the tortoise* solutions).

If you want to get started with distributed version control I suggest reading up and trying out things pretty extensively first, as it's easy to get lost if you don't fully grasp all the concepts. The payoff is pretty big though, since these kind of version control systems are really flexible and since all checked out/cloned repositories are copies of the entire repository, backup is never an issue.
