Server List

Hello,

I am a DOS Batch scripter trying out AutoIT and having an issue.

In OS Batch I could work through a list of servers to run my batch against via a text file and the DOS For command.

Example:

FOR /F "tokens=1" %%i in (servers.txt) do call :Runit %%i

Thi would read each line in the text file (servers.txt) and run the :Runit function against it.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to do this in AutoIT. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bill

#include <File.au3>
Global $aFileArray
_FileReadToArray("servers.txt", $aFileArray)
For $Loop = 1 To $aFileArray[0]
    RunIt($aFileArray[$Loop])
Next
Func RunIt($sServerName)
;your command to run would go here
    ;example
    Run("Somerandom.exe " & $sServerName)
EndFunc

Thank you very much!

However, that brings another issue. The way I had my batch file:

FOR /F "tokens=1" %%i in (servers.txt) do call :Runit %%i

Would then send it to the rest of the batch file below, i.e. :Runit, so it looked like this:

FOR /F "tokens=1" %%i in (servers.txt) do call :Runit %%i

:Runit
:SetVar
set variable=somevalue
:QueryReg
reg query somereg
:Compare
if variable=query set newvar=somevalue
do something

The :Runit part would be done for each server line in the text file. So in my new AutoIT script, can I take your code and tell it to go below and ececute every line for each of the servers in the array? I think maybe so if I make the whole rest of the script a function but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Bill

Hello BrewManNH,

Please disregard my last comment. I doscovered all I had to do was supply an EndFunc at the end of my script and it worked just the way it did in DOS Batch!

Thank you very much again!
