Reading file into array with stringsplit..........

I am having some trouble trying to read a CSV file I have into an array. I then plan to load the array data into a listview.

$dateForFilename = "C:\2-13-2013.log"


If FileExists($dateForFilename) Then
;there is a running call log for the day, so load it into the call logger

;read the existing call log into an array
Global $CallLogsRead

_FileReadToArray($dateForFilename, $CallLogsRead)

Right now I am just trying to get the array to populate and display it. The log file I am reading is formatted as such:

Frankie , 5541112222 , 2258965642
David , 4412223696 , 2248885698

I keep getting subscript out of range errors. I'm sure there's something I'm doing wrong, but I assuming the _FileReadToArray Function will return an array variable the same as the INIReadSection function. Any assistance sorting this out is appreciated.

You didn't set the count in the 2d array.

Global $myCallLogs[$CallLogsRead[0] + 1][2] = [[$CallLogsRead[0]]]

Hmm. Now I am getting the same error here:

Array variable has incorrect number of subscripts or subscript dimension range exceeded

For $i = 1 to $CallLogsRead [0][0]

$CallLogsRead2 = StringSplit($CallLogsRead[$i][1], ",")
; Now add the elements to the Global array
For $j = 1 To $CallLogsRead2[0]
$myLoggedCalls[$i][$j] = $CallLogsRead2[$j]

I am horrible with arrays. Is $CallLogsRead not a two dimensional array?

_FileReadToArray returns a 1D array.

Thanks Guiness. I ended up going with a simpler solution using the CSV UDF since I'm working with a CSV file.

Looks something like this for anybody else that may be watching this thread:

;Check if there is already a running call log for the day
If FileExists($dateForFilename) Then
;there is a running call log for the day, so load it into the call logger

;parse the csv log file
Local $rc = _ParseCSV($dateForFilename, ",")

For $i = 0 To UBound($rc)

Next

_ArrayDisplay($rc)

Local $myCallLogfile = FileOpen($dateForFilename, 9)

If $myCallLogfile = -1 Then
