bourny
I have used autoit for some time to query WMI on the root\CIMv2 namespace. Examples of these would be something like $wbemFlagReturnImmediately = 0x10 $wbemFlagForwardOnly = 0x20 $colItems = "" $strComputer = "localhost" $Output="" $Output = $Output & "Computer: " & $strComputer & @CRLF $Output = $Output & "==========================================" & @CRLF $objWMIService = ObjGet("winmgmts:\\" & $strComputer & "\root\CIMV2") $colItems = $objWMIService.ExecQuery("SELECT * FROM Win32_SystemEnclosure", "WQL", _ $wbemFlagReturnImmediately + $wbemFlagForwardOnly) What I now want to do is use WMI to query a different namespace called \root\microsoft\bits This namespace allows interrogation of the BITS system (Background intelligent transfer service) I tried ammending the code above to do something like $wbemFlagReturnImmediately = 0x10 $wbemFlagForwardOnly = 0x20 $colItems = "" $strComputer = "localhost" $Output="" $Output = $Output & "Computer: " & $strComputer & @CRLF $Output = $Output & "==========================================" & @CRLF $objWMIService = ObjGet("winmgmts:\\" & $strComputer & "\root\microsoft\bits") $colItems = $objWMIService.ExecQuery("SELECT * FROM BitsClientJob", "WQL", _ $wbemFlagReturnImmediately + $wbemFlagForwardOnly) This does not appear to work. I suspect the variables "$wbemFlagReturnImmediately + $wbemFlagForwardOnly" may have something to do with it or other parts of the standard WMI code also need amending not just the namespace. I looked at how anyone else did BITS interrogation using autoit however the only example I could find was making use of the Bitsadmin binary inside a loop to keep polling for updates by piping out to a text file and reading it in. Others on the Web seem to have a lot of talk around using powershell however I have not used powershell and a fan of using Autoit to do all my tasks. Any suggestions or help appreciated. water
You could try "Sciptomatic" from the Example Scripts section. This example lets you query WMI and then creates the correct AutoIt code for you.
