zarknoid
I have found an issue where a string variable used as a filename is being truncated while entering the name into a file save dialog. I'm sure the variable is correct because I'm logging the string prior to the dialog. I have other places in the script where this does not happen. Does this sound like a memory issue or has anyone else seen this before?
BrewManNH
We're going to need more information as to what you're seeing. What is the contents of the variable, and where is it getting cut off? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. zarknoid
The variable contains: 20130228-094723-SR.CSV What gets entered into the dialog is: R.CSV
BrewManNH
Do you have a reproducer script that demonstrates this? It doesn't have to be your entire script, just a part that shows the issue, it would help to figure out where it isn't working right. I've never had a problem like this so I'd need to see what it is you're doing to get this to happen. Thanks. BrewManNH
Do you have a script that can actually be, I don't know, run? Also, have you looked at the _IE* functions or the Inet* functions to do this instead of using Send? Send is very unreliable as a general rule. zarknoid
It now works ok. I added a line above where it sends the filename. I think this gave the system a chance to 'catch up' or forced an interrupt. But I will look into the IE routines as you suggested.
