ljzrelak
We're doing a Lync 2013 upgrade at my office and we're trying to script certain things to help us in this. I wanted to use AutoIt to kick off the install for Lync2013 using the msp method. I tried to set it up so that the script sleeps for 20 seconds to allow the msiexec.exe process to actually appear and then once the msiexec.exe process terminates for the script to continue and then close the process for Office Communicator and uninstall that, after that msiexec.exe terminates to continue to uninstall the live meeting 2007 client, then once that terminates, uninstall the outlook live meeting addin. The script is as follows: Run ( "setup.exe /adminfile updates\Lync2013.msp" ) Sleep ( 10000 ) ProcessWait ( "msiexec.exe" ) ProcessWaitClose ( "msiexec.exe" ) ProcessClose ( "communicator.exe" ) ProcessWaitClose ( "communicator.exe" ) Run ("msiexec /x Communicator.msi /passive") ProcessWait ( "msiexec.exe" ) ProcessWaitClose ( "msiexec.exe" ) Run ( "msiexec /x LMConsole.msi /passive" ) ProcessWait ( "msiexec.exe" ) ProcessWaitClose ( "msiexec.exe" ) Run ( "msiexec /x LMAddinPack.msi /passive" ) And of course my locations for the msi's and the setup files are on a network share, but I left that out and just show the basis with the exec and msi's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I realize I have to be missing something here. Maybe it's not the best idea to use the msiexec.exe process for this, but I just can't figure out how else to do it. Thank you for your help! BrewManNH
If you use RunWait, you can eliminate all the ProcessWait/ProcessWaitClose parts, because the script won't continue until whatever it has Run has closed on it's own. If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. Moderators JLogan3o13 Posted February 28, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 28, 2013 Hi, ljzrelak. Just curious if you're going from 2010 to 2013, or 2007 Communicator? I just did an upgrade for a client going from 2010 to 2013, and found a lot of junk left over from 2010 just going the setup.exe route. "Profanity is the last vestige of the feeble mind.
