AutoIt Scite blue screens every time I click "options"

Not sure what is going on.

Running Windows 7 x86 VM

Installed Autoit 3.3.8.1 from website full install and ran scite. clicked options, loads fine.

Install the Full Scite for Autoit also from the website and as soon as I load up scite and click options .. boom.. instant blue screen 100% of the time.

Checked event log and this is the only thing I can find.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007f (0x00000008, 0x801da000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report Id: .

I tried uninstalling autoit and scite altogether and reinstalling but same problem.

EDIT: I've been able to slowly narrow it down to perhaps an RDP problem. When I connect to the VM directly and click options the menu loads just fine, but if I am within an RDP session the VM blue screens every single time I click options.

Yeh, never. Have you tried using something else other than RDP, maybe Teamviewer?

I've now confirmed the problem on 2 separate VM's. This is now reproducible.

Windows 7 x86 SP1

RDP session

fresh install of autoit and scite4autoit

Click options and instant blue screen.

Did you try with the standard install of SciTE? If the problem still exists report it to SciTE.

I have narrowed down the problem further. In the RDP options the issue stems from "window and menu animation"

If you uncheck that box in the RDP options the problem goes away.

EDIT:

It seems the problem is running scite within an RDP session with the "window and menu animation" option checked AND the fact the full autoit4scite editor options menu seems to take up the entire screen. It has so many "properties" options in the menu it seems to crash and blue screen the machine.

You can fix it by either turning off window and menu animation or not using the full scite editor.
