LightDragon
Hey, I've just joined this forum. I tried to pm someone but the PM says " Sorry, you don't have permission for that!"What should I do now? Thanks!
Moderators Melba23 Posted March 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 6, 2013 LightDragon,As you have discovered, you cannot use the PM system immediately after joining. Why do you want to PM someone so quickly anyway? What cannot be said by posting in a thread? You might like to take a quick look at the Forum rules (there is also a link at bottom right of each page) - one of which says: "Do not PM other users asking for support - that is why the forum exists, so post there instead"M23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
water
I think you need to have a post count of 10 or so before you can PM a user. But you shouldn't start with a PM. If you have a question open a thread and we will do our best to answer. LightDragon
sorry, didn't read the rule, been reading this forums about other things I need to pm because I've been searching some fix for FastFind.dll on forum and google but got nothing. And I thought PM was a good way to get help from the author because he owes the dll anyway. Should I start another thread for my problem or just asking in here and change the topic title if possible? LightDragon
I see, thanks. And I only have 7 more posts. Why is that?
Moderators Melba23 Posted March 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) LighDragon, We limit new users to a small number of posts (and no PMs) to prevent them from going rogue as soon as they join. As you seem a reasonable type I will lift your restriction in a few moments. M23 Edit: Done. LightDragon
thanks belba, I rarely post anything on any forum except when I can't find what I need. I'm more like read and do the work, not asking (about technical problems ofc. )
