Webcam.au3 UDF "Select a Video Device" Temp Solution

Hi,

So, I've been using Autoit for a little over a year now on Windows 7 x64 and I must say this site is great.

I also want to say that the documentation for Autoit is so powerful that I haven't once had to post and ask a question.

However, recently the Webcam.au3 UDF caught my eyes and when I went to use it, it gave me the "Select a Video Device" Pop-up that I know has been an issue for Windows 7 users.

I found a messy work a round that might be useful for somebody.

You should replace "WebcamDell2.exe" with your default Application for accessing the Webcam.

Right as the webcam application starts, it "magically" fixes the webcam issue, and closing it right away allows it to fix the webcam device select issue without the webcam application gui appearing.

It only takes about a second on my computer to do the following code.

i am trying to call webcam.au3 to open webcamand then capture a picture automatically.

i encountered the issue: "Select a Video Device" Pop-up and then black screen.

i tried what you said but did not find the "WebcamDell2.exe.
