Assignments in conditions

If I remember my C programming, it is possible to assign a value to a variable AND test the result in, for example, an if statement, all in one go.

Is there any way to do this in Autoit? Eval or Assign functions or something??

Example:

Dim $a
while $a+=1 < 10
ConsoleWrite($a & @CRLF)
WEnd

Umm, I have searched Operators and I hope I'm not missing something but I can't find anything in that page about assignments in a conditional

I am specifically talking abut this:

$a+=1 < 10

Which would add 1 to $a and then compare the result with 10.

I take it you are talking about the "Language Reference - Operators" page. I have looked at that and find nothing specifically about a combined Assignment and Comparison expression. Please would you point me to the exact text you are referring to. Perhaps cut and paste a snippet?

But that's not what I am asking about... I was asking about a combined assignment and conditional statement (or some way of achieving the same).

Don't worry about it, its not that important anyway. I just thought someone might have a clever way of getting it all into one.

OK, well it can't be done like that in AutoIt with a While loop, look at a For loop instead.
