Other Program can't see my GUI

There is this silly vendor program (Created by 3M) which basically sends keystrokes (BAR codes) to another application. The first time it attempts to send a window pops listing all opened windows by window title and asks you to choose where you want to send what is scanned. It lists all currently open windows; ie my web browser, my scite program, notepad, windows explorer windows. Just whatever windows I happen to have open. I choose that item and it just sends the data away. I can write the scanned barcode into notepad or IE or whatever.

But where I want the data to go is to my compiled autoit program because I then need to intercept and modify the data and then send it some place else. The problem is, that the 3M vendor program does not list my autoit program in its list of currently opened program. It is almost as though the 3M sendkeys program can't see my autoit, or is reading the title from another part of the window "form", but I don't know what that is.

Man that was difficult to explain. I hope someone gets it and has a suggestion for me.

If you do a ProcessList from an AutoIt script, does your program show in there? Or in WinList?

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I hereby grant any person the right to use any code I post, that I am the original author of, on the autoitscript.com forums, unless I've specifically stated otherwise in the code or the thread post. If you do use my code all I ask, as a courtesy, is to make note of where you got it from.

Back up and restore Windows user files _Array.au3 - Modified array functions that include support for 2D arrays.  -  ColorChooser - An add-on for SciTE that pops up a color dialog so you can select and paste a color code into a script.  -  Customizable Splashscreen GUI w/Progress Bar - Create a custom "splash screen" GUI with a progress bar and custom label.  -  _FileGetProperty - Retrieve the properties of a file  -  SciTE Toolbar - A toolbar demo for use with the SciTE editor  -  GUIRegisterMsg demo - Demo script to show how to use the Windows messages to interact with controls and your GUI.  -   Latin Square password generator

I have this program written by a someone else (3M) which essentially sends keystrokes to another program or window. I dialog box will even pop up and ask you which of the open windows you'd like the keystrokes to go to, and lists them by window title bar. What I want is to send those strokes to my autoit GUI. But of all the open windows displayed in the 3M dialog, my auto it GUI is not one of them. It sees Windows explore, Chrome browser, the autoit script editor its self, but not the running GUI. Even if I compile the script to exe and launch it, it doesn't list the GUI's title.

Has anyone seen this behavior or know what the silly 3M program is NOT seeing?

ant2ne,

How about sticking to just the one thread - particularly as you have not yet responded to the answer in this one. ;)
